I bought the HP deskjet 2724 yesterday and have been trying to set it up since with no avail, I'm tempted to return it to the shop as it just wont work.
It asks me to print a page to get a code.. my printer either prints a page saying it needs an update even when I check online on the printer account it states it is up to date or it prints me a code (via the wifi) to which when I enter the code on the app it says my printer is offline.
Cannot get through to speak to anyone at HP and it is driving me mad.

Are you referring to the claim code?
Are you trying to enroll the printer in the Instant Ink service?

Hi!
I've set up the printer, it's when I'm trying to sign up for instant ink - I know how to print the code yet my printer keeps printing a page saying an update is needed even though I've updated it to current software.
I am also receiving emails stating random people are gaining access to my printer from the hp smart app? From an email address which is donotreply@email.hpsmart.com but I darent click the link to sort it on my account as worried it isnt a real email from HP and possibly a scam.

Update the printer firmware
Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your PC.
Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.
If the printer is already up to date and you are still having this issue, restart web services.
Click here to know how to turn off web services. Refer to this document to know how to turn it on.
Click here to know how to enroll the printer in Instant Ink.
Do not worry, no one can access your printer. Make sure the printer is connected to a secure wireless network. Only the devices on that network will be able to access the printer.
