I have just gotten a HP DeskJet F4440 from my neighbor to print and scan documents for school. It keeps saying i need to install the driver, i think i figured that part out and now its still saying the driver is the problem. The driver that is causing the problem is called Skizzie Pen..... I have no idea where it came from. The printer is printing paper but there is nothing on the pages. Ive also checked the ink and did test prints. It is also a USB connect. I'm completely LOST! Help

The Bad
- Skizzy Pen is an actual digital Pen. Not sure how it has become tangled up with your printer software. ??
and
- There are no HP Print or HP Scan drivers provided for this older product.
- If the printer came with any ink cartridges installed, these are likely dried up or clogged (and must be replaced). Will new cartridges help? Depends on whether the ink supply system that uses the cartridges is clean and usable.
- Without any print drivers, the printer is essentially a large paper weight. See the notes in "Not-so-bad".
- The printer is not - and will never be - compatible with Windows 11. This might not matter to you - consider the information "FYI".
What happened?
HP has removed the printer old printer software for this and other similarly aged printers.
HP removes software due to support or security reasons.

While there are not any HP scan drivers, you can install Windows Print drivers
Windows print drivers provide basic print function
HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver)
- Scan Software
It is possible there are Scan programs / software that you can use.
Possible includes (and might not be limited to)
Windows Scan – Microsoft Store (formally Windows Store) - Requires Windows 8 or higher
- “Get” the application from the Store > Windows Scan
Paint (mspaint)
Older software – not brilliant – does work for scanning images.
- Open Paint
- Optional >> Expand the “white background” area to a size to accommodate your data. If unknown, try 1300x1300
- File > Select “From Scanner or Camera”
- Select your printer > Follow the prompts to scan and then save your item
What else?
If you can find no other options, this company specializes in Scan software for unsupported printers.
NOTE: This reference is FYI and is not intended as an endorsement of the software.
VueScan – Third party software
