HP Deskjet 1010

After updated to macOS 15.3.2 my HP deskjet 1010 printer doesn't work. It doesn't print and the printoperationcentral of macOS shows me "Wait for printer is avialable"- but it is connected via USB properly ...

It ryed some things: Clean uninstall all HP tools and drivers - with HP uninstall tool and easystart and manually - after this  - printer driver reinstallend - HP tools reinstalled - also macOS reinstallad by repairinstallation - nothing helps .... it doesn't print.

But some mysterious: In the printer service program the cartridge cleaning and cartridge repositioning tools are working properly ... the test sheet requirement will not being answerd - failure like above ... Doesn’t support macOS 15.3.2 these printers furthermore? Under 15.3.1 it works properly ... Can you help???

Hi @HK173

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like the macOS 15.3.2 update may have introduced compatibility issues with your HP Deskjet 1010 printer.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Check for Updated Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for the latest drivers for your printer. If specific drivers for macOS 15.3.2 are not available, try downloading the most recent version for macOS—it might still work.

Remove and Re-add the Printer:

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners on your Mac.
  • Select your HP Deskjet 1010 and click the "-" button to remove it.
  • Restart your Mac, then click the "+" button to add the printer again.

Use AirPrint:

  • If updated drivers are unavailable, check if your printer supports AirPrint. When re-adding the printer, select "AirPrint" as the driver option.

Reset the Printing System:

  • In Printers & Scanners, right-click (or Control-click) in the printer list and select "Reset printing system." This will remove all printers and reset the printing system. Then, re-add your printer.

Check macOS Updates:

  • Go to System Settings > General > Software Update to ensure your Mac has the latest updates. Apple sometimes releases patches for compatibility issues.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
