Product: Deskjet 1055
Operating System: macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I have tried setting up my HP Deskjet 1055 with my Mac through many different means. 

HP Smart can't find the printer.

HP Easy Start just tells me to download HP Smart.

Installing with the generic drive on Macs system preferences just makes the printer send the job through the queue as "Completed" without actually printing.

Please help, I'm a college student that needs this printer to work but I don't want to face the fact that I might have to buy a newer printer or an older computer to solve the issue.

Hi,

Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.

Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/HP_Quick_Start/osx/Applications/HP_Easy_Start.app.zip

 

As soon as HP Easy start prompts to install HP Smart, close HP Easy Start and press the Skip to Software Download button, then follow the steps on screen to complete the installation and check for any difference.
