Hi,
I have just replaced the cartridges in my HP Deskjet 2630 and now it asks for setup cartridges, putting the originals back in the printer does not clear the issue. I have tried all the online suggestions and these do not help.
The replacement cartridges are OEM HP and are correct for this printer - any suggestions?
Thanks

Welcome to HP support community.
Update the printer firmware
Go to Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware for steps to update the printer firmware.
Reset the printer
-
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
-
Unplug the power cord from the power source.
-
Wait 60 seconds.
-
Reconnect the power cord to a wall outlet and to the printer.
Remove and reinsert the ink cartridges
-
Open the door to access the ink cartridges.
-
Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.
-
Remove the ink cartridges from their slots, and then check the labels.
-
If the ink cartridges are not labeled SETUP, do not continue with the steps in this document. Return the printer to the retailer.
-
If the ink cartridges are labeled SETUP, continue to the next step.
-
If your printer was working fine, and you installed new ink cartridges, continue to the next step.
-
-
Reinsert the ink cartridges into their slots.
-
Close the ink cartridge access door.
I hope that helps.

Hi Sandytechy20,
Thank you for responding to my post. As you mention below the printer was working fine and then ran out of ink, so I replaced the original setup cartridges with brand new HP ink cartridges. The new cartridges are the correct OEM parts and not refills or copies.
I have tried the steps below - with no success, I have also tried updating the firmware, factory reset and cleaning the printer contacts - the printer just keeps asking for the setup cartridges.
Is there a way to reset or clear this issue?
Thanks,
Nick

@Sandytechy20
I don't have an option to fill in a web-form only - HP Support community or HP Phone support (fee based) or HP Virtual agent.
I have tried the HP Virtual agent with no success
The HP Phone support fee is half the cost of a new printer
And we are here on the HP support community ….
Please help advise.
Thanks

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
