Hi @Joke2019,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2810e printer is not offering a color printing option on your Mac, it is likely a driver or settings issue. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and resolve this.

Verify the Printer’s Capabilities

  • Ensure that the printer supports color printing. (The HP DeskJet 2810e should support color, so this is mostly a confirmation step.)

Check Printer Settings in macOS

  • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer from the list and click Options & Supplies.
  • Under Options, ensure that "Color Printing" or a similar feature is enabled.

Update Printer Driver

  • Download the latest driver for your printer from the HP Support website.
  • Install the updated driver to ensure full functionality.

Set Color Options in Print Dialog

  • When printing a document, click File > Print.
  • In the print dialog:
    1. Select Show Details (if hidden).
    2. Check the Color Options or Quality & Media tab.
    3. Ensure the color setting is set to Color instead of Grayscale.

Re-add the Printer

  • Remove and re-add your printer in System Settings:
    1. Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Select the HP DeskJet 2810e and click the (-) button to remove it.
    3. Click the (+) button to add it back, ensuring you select the appropriate printer driver (not AirPrint unless necessary).

Reset Printing System (Optional)

  • If the above steps don’t work, reset the printing system:
    1. Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
    2. Right-click in the printer list (or hold down Control and click).
    3. Select Reset Printing System.
    4. Add your printer again.

Test Printing in Color

  • Try printing a test page to confirm the color printing option is now available.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
