though it doesn't detect on Photoshop import image from scanner, but  I use default HP app to scan images which gives Pdf, JPG, HEif , etc so many options great to save online or on your Mac or PC

While you mentioned that it doesn't detect on Photoshop for importing images from the scanner, you can utilize the default HP applications and tools for scanning. These include multiple output formats such as PDF, JPG, and HEIF, allowing you to save scanned images directly to your Mac or PC and even online.

 

For scanning, it is recommended to use the HP Smart app or HP Easy Scan for macOS, which offers comprehensive and easy-to-use features. Here's a brief on how you can scan using these apps:

Using HP Easy Scan:

Download and Install HP Easy Start:

  • Go to 123.hp.com to get the latest version.
  • Install the software and add your printer to the print queue.

Scan Images:

  • Place your document on the scanner glass or automatic document feeder.
  • Open HP Easy Scan from the Applications folder or Dock.
  • Select your printer from the Scanner drop-down list.
  • Choose your scan type and preset options.
  • Click "Scan" to initiate scanning.
  • Preview, modify, and save your scanned image using the options provided.

Using HP Smart App:

HP Smart is another app that facilitates scanning with straightforward instructions. This app integrates both printing and scanning functions, making the process seamless.

These applications ensure that despite issues with third-party software like Photoshop, you can still scan effectively using HP's own tools.

Troubleshooting Tip:

If you need to use Photoshop and it's not detecting the scanner, check compatibility settings within Photoshop, or ensure that you have the necessary TWAIN drivers installed that support your scanner model.

 

Check for TWAIN Support

Photoshop relies on TWAIN drivers for scanner integration:

  • The Deskjet 3052A may not include TWAIN support on macOS Sequoia.
  • You can verify this by checking the HP Deskjet 3052A driver page for any TWAIN-compatible packages.

Use Image Capture as a Bridge

macOS’s built-in Image Capture app can sometimes act as a workaround:

  • Open Image Capture from Applications.
  • Select your printer from the device list.
  • Scan and save the image, then import it manually into Photoshop.

Try AirPrint or Reinstall via IP

If the printer is added using AirPrint, Photoshop may not detect the scanner:

  • Remove the printer from System Settings > Printers & Scanners.
  • Re-add it using the IP address and select a specific HP driver instead of AirPrint.
  • This may expose the scanner to Photoshop.
