Hello.
Recently I configured my HP Deskjet 3639 EWS service and set admin password. However, it was some time ago and I forgot it and also forgot to save or write it down somewhere, so I'm basically stuck with useless printer. Is there any way to make some type of hard reset of EWS service?
I've tried all these button combinations while scrolling the forums but they only reset printer's network configuration, not EWS admin's password. Also, based on what I've found there is a solution to my problem but only given as private message. Could anyone provide me with said solution, please?
Thank you!

@wojbik, Welcome to HP Support Community!
I see that you lost the EWS password on the printer and I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve the issue.
I did some research on this and came across several steps that could help us to reset the EWS page password:
- Restore the network defaults on the printer as shown below:
-
The password access requirement is turned OFF.
-
Username default is ADMIN.
-
Password is BLANK.
If the above steps do not work then you may try the following steps:
- Open a web browser and type the printer IP address in the address field exactly as it appears on the Configuration Page, and then press Enter.
NOTE: From the printer control panel, press the Wireless button and the Information button (i) together to print the network configuration page. This page contains the IP address. - Click the Security tab, and under General Security, set the local administrator password.
- Keep the username default as admin.
- Type the New Password and Verify Password.
- Navigate to the bottom of the page and click Apply.
Use these credentials the next time you Log In to the EWS.
If the issue persists, please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
Hope this helps!

It is not. I have the same issue as these people and, probably, require the same help method.

But oh well, I guess I will just stay away from HP for awhile. It's just annoying that I bought a printer like few weeks ago.
