I have lost my connection to my HP Deskjet 3772. I keep trying to add the printer, and it is not identified. I am not the sharpest user. I have used HP Smart, and the PC control panel. Neither will reconnect the printer.

@Alpal77, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If your HP Deskjet 3772 printer is not being identified or connected, you can follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your printer, computer, and router.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Turn all devices back on and try reconnecting the printer.
Check Network Connection:
- Ensure your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Check that your Wi-Fi is working properly on other devices.
Reset Network Settings on Printer:
- On your HP Deskjet 3772, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time for 3 seconds.
- This will reset the network settings on your printer.
Reinstall HP Smart App:
- Uninstall the HP Smart app on your PC.
- Download and reinstall the latest version of the HP Smart app from HP's official website or the Microsoft Store.
Add Printer via HP Support Assistant:
- Download and install HP Support Assistant here.
- Open HP Support Assistant and click on ‘Add device’.
- It will scan for printers attached to your network.
Firewall & Antivirus Software:
- Temporarily disable firewall and antivirus software on your computer as they might be blocking the printer connection.
Manual IP Configuration:
- Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel.
- Note down the IP address.
- Use the IP address to manually add the printer on your computer through the "Devices and Printers" settings.
I hope this helps.
