Hello,
I have an old HP Deskjet 812C printer and want to use it with my MacBook Pro. I recently upgraded to macOS Sierra and now the printer doesn't work. I've searched for new drivers but have not found anything. The serial number for my printer is CN97F1M1KY, model number C6411B and when I look up that serial number it says the printer is a HP Deskjet F2480 All In One Printer. And there are no drivers listed for that printer. For some reason my serial number is tied to that printer rather than my 812C.
Apple Support does not list drivers either for this printer with my operating system. So, is my printer now obselete with my macOS Sierra? Does anyone know if there are drivers available? Very frustrating situation. I know my printer is old but it's a decent printer.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi @CF4 - to clarify HP printer software packages are no longer delivered through Apple Software Update for printers manufactured after October 2016, those are still provided via ASU for any earlier printer models...
@dwmski- The 812c printer is not supported on Sierra - as listed for the HP Deskjet 810c Printer (which is the entire series), no drivers are provided for this model by either HP or Apple:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04473034
You may try the 3rd party GutePrint drivers which seems to support your printer:
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/p_Supported_Printers.php
Download and install teh latest version for OS X:
http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/p_Download.php
Then connect the printer, add it and select the 812c drivers by GIMP / GutenPrint and you should be able to print.

Hi
Don't try this at home...
https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04510394
but maybe search in DuckDuckGo for similar articles.
Since October 2016, HP printer software packages are no longer delivered through Apple Software Update. Visit 123.hp.com to download the latest HP software for your printer. Alternatively, if your printer supports Apple AirPrint, you do not need a driver to print from your Mac or iOS device. For more information, go to About AirPrint
I am unsure of the version numbers, so this may not be relevant.
