HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer Will not connect to WiFi. It easily finds the network. I enter the password that works on every device in the entire house. It attempts and fails to connect. Has been ongoing for months. I’ve tried the restore, factory reset, reinstall drivers, hard connecting to computer, nothing will print. Completely useless option to contact customer support. Has this been designed to fail and force people to buy a new printer? Every available piece of information online, YouTube, literally everything including the hidden options by hitting and holding combos of buttons has been tried. Every time the same result. Unable to connect wirelessly even though network and password is correct every single time. Nothing I do works. And unable to call anyone because the options are hidden.
it finds the correct network instantly. I enter the password and it attempts but fails. Why? Why does it fail and then we start all over with this crap?

Hi @Ben81smith,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I understand that you are facing connectivity issues. I’d like to help!
Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that.
Make sure, your printer and your device are on the same network as 2.4GHZ only.
Is it a private (Home network) or a public Wi-Fi connection? Wi-Fi direct? Or Hotspot?
What device are you using the printer with a Windows computer, Mac, Android, or iPhone?
Print a Wireless Test report to test your printer's wireless functions, such as signal strength and security settings, and search for similar networks, which might cause interference.
Print a Wireless Network Test Report
- Print a Wireless Network Test Report to find information about your printer network connection or to troubleshoot connection issues.
- Print a Wireless Network Test Report:
- Inkjet printers with a control panel menu: Open the Wireless, Network Settings, or Setup menu
to locate the list of available reports.
- Most inkjet printers without a control panel menu: Press the Wireless
and Information
buttons at the same time, or press the Wireless
and Start Copy Black
buttons at the same time.
- LaserJet printers: Press and hold the Wireless button
for 10 seconds or until the Ready light blinks, or go to the Wireless menu and select Wireless Network Test.
- Laser NS and Neverstop Laser printers: Press and hold the Resume
and Wireless
buttons for 3 seconds.
- DeskJet 6000 and 6400, ENVY 6000 and 6400, and Tango printers: Touch and hold the Information button
until all control panel buttons light up, and then touch the Information
and Resume
buttons at the same time.
- Review the information on the report, and then follow any instructions provided to troubleshoot connectivity problems.
