HP ENVY 6452e setup issue

I'm trying to set up a new HP printer for my elderly mother; however no test cartridges came with her purchase.  Using new cartridges resulted in a message essentially stating I must use the test cartridges for setup, which is impossible.

How can I set up the printer?

To Bypass Using Setup Cartridges for HP ENVY 6452e setup issue the only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer. 

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
