Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Support Community.
It's not compatible with Vista as per specs:
Minimum system requirements for Windows
Windows 10, 7 (Service Pack 1): 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor, 2 GB available hard disk space, Internet connection, USB port, Internet Explorer
The printer can be onboarded with a mobile phone (Android or iPhone) via HP Smart app (download and install via Apple Play Store or Andoird Playstore).
It would meant all print and scan will need to be done via the phone unless the laptop meets the minimumum specs (e.g. Win 10)
