I have an ENVY HP 7645 printer.  When I try to connect to web services I get a message saying the server is temporarily unavailable. Try again later.

Hi @Don248Island,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "server temporarily unavailable" message when trying to connect to Web Services on your HP ENVY 7645 printer typically indicates a network or connection issue. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve the problem.

Restart Printer, Router, and Devices

  • Power off the printer, router, and any devices (computers, tablets, etc.).
  • Wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Power on the router first, wait for it to fully restart.
  • Then power on the printer and devices.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. You can check for updates directly from the printer's menu by navigating to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Update Printer.
  • You can also check for updates through the HP website.

Reconfigure Web Services

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings or Web Services Setup.
  • Select Remove Web Services.
  • Once removed, enable Web Services again and follow the prompts to set it up.

Check Network Connection

  • Ensure the printer is connected to the internet. Test the Wi-Fi connection by printing a Network Configuration Report from the control panel to confirm connectivity.
  • Go to Settings > Network Setup > Print Network Configuration Page.
  • If the printer isn't connected, reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network.

Check DNS Settings

  • Sometimes manually entering a DNS server can help. Change the DNS settings to 8.8.8.8 (Google DNS).
  • On the printer's control panel, navigate to Network Settings and look for IP Configuration or Manual DNS settings.

HP Smart App

  • If Web Services still won’t connect, try setting it up using the HP Smart app on your phone or computer.

After performing these steps, try reconnecting to Web Services again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
