Hi @Scojo100,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with the HP ENVY Photo 7155 frozen in setup mode.
If your HP ENVY Photo 7155 printer is frozen in setup mode, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue:
1. Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in to the printer and the wall outlet.
- Turn on the printer and check if it resumes normal operation.
2. Check the Display Panel:
- Ensure there are no obstructions or protective films covering the touch screen that might be causing the issue.
- Gently clean the touch screen to ensure it is responsive.
3. Reset the Printer:
- Sometimes, a reset can clear the issue.
- Perform a hard reset by unplugging the power cord while the printer is on.
- Wait for 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
- Turn on the printer and see if it exits setup mode.
4. Check for Firmware Updates:
- If the printer boots up normally, check for any firmware updates.
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest firmware for your printer model.
- Follow the instructions to update the firmware.
5. Reinitialize the Printer:
- If the printer remains stuck in setup mode, you might need to reinitialize it.
- Restore the printer to its factory settings:
- On the printer's touch screen, find the Setup menu.
- Go to Printer Maintenance or Tools.
- Select Restore or Restore Factory Defaults.
6. Re-run the Setup Process:
- If you manage to reset the printer, go through the setup process again:
- Follow the on-screen instructions for language, region, and network settings.
- Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app or software for your device to complete the setup.
7. Check Network Connection:
- If the printer is connected to a wireless network, ensure the network is stable.
- Restart your router and check the printer's network settings to ensure it is properly connected.
8. Use HP Smart App for Setup:
- Download and install the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Follow the app's instructions to complete the setup of your printer.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it might be a more serious hardware problem. Contact HP phone Support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
