Hi @JimENVY7858,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP ENVY Photo 7858 All‑in‑One Printer is stuck on the startup screen and unresponsive. Try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the printer from the power source while it is turned on.
- Disconnect all cables (USB, network, etc.).
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Plug the printer directly into a wall outlet (avoid power strips).
- Turn it back on and check if it boots properly.
2. Try a Forced Firmware Recovery Mode
If the printer remains frozen:
- Turn off the printer (unplug if needed).
- Press and hold the Wi-Fi button and Back button (or tap the lower-left and lower-right corners of the touchscreen if no physical buttons).
- While holding those buttons, turn the printer on.
- Keep holding until you see a Firmware Recovery screen.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to attempt a firmware recovery.
3. Try a Semi-Full Reset
If the printer is still stuck:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Press and hold the # and 3 keys on the control panel.
- While holding them, plug the printer back in and turn it on.
- Release the keys when you see the HP logo or a reset message.
- If that doesn’t work, repeat the steps with # and 6 for a more thorough reset.
4. Check for Firmware Issues
- If the printer boots, update the firmware using HP Smart or HP Support Assistant.
- If it’s still stuck, a firmware corruption may have occurred, requiring a manual firmware reinstallation via a USB drive.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
