I am running MacOS Ventura 13.0.1 and am trying to update printer drivers. When I select my operating system to download the driver it appears to download. However when I try to open the download I get the message that the download has not completed. No matter how long I wait I cannot open the file.
When I allow the support site to auto-detect my operating system it detects macOS 10.15. If I download the driver associated with that OS it will not open. I get the following error message ... “HP Easy Start” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.
How do I get a current driver update for my Mac?

Hi @JMarkL
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing issues with updating the drivers for your printer to connect to Mac computer
Please follow the steps listed below to reset printing systems and then add the printer.
1. Click the Apple menu, and then click System Preferences.
2. Click Printers & Scanners, Print & Scan, or Print & Fax.
3. Right-click (or Control + click) anywhere inside the Printers window, and then click Reset printing system.
4. Click Reset or OK.
Note: Once you click on reset any other printer added to this computer will also get deleted and needs to be added again.
5. If prompted, type your username and password, and then click OK. The printing system resets.
6. Turn off the printer, wait 5 seconds, and then turn on the printer.
7. Wait until the printer is idle and silent.
8. In the Printers window on the Mac, click the Add button.
9. Select your printer from the list, and then click Add.
It might take a few seconds before your printer displays in the Printers list.

Thanks Rainbow23, I have completed all the steps outlined below & was able to print as soon as this was complete.
However, once the printer goes back to 'standby' (low power mode) it does not respond to subsequent print request - the Print Queue shows the Printer 'offline' & is continually 'Looking for Printer".
It is also worth noting that when trying to print from other devices I get the message "No AirPrint Printers Found".
The printer does show connected to my home network ... after all it successfully printed initially after I completed your instructions.

I downloaded the HP Smart App ... the Advanced Settings page would not load on my Mac, I was able to load it on a Win 11 machine. The Product Update function tells me there are 'No new updates available this time."
