Hi there,
I'm trying to login to EWS for this printer. It asks for login details. This question has come up before for other products.
In those cases a few ways to solve this either involved combinations of ADMIN/admin/blanks as username & password,
OR
involved pressing and holding down a combination of buttons.
Unfortunately, the former does not work for me. The latter is not applicable to my printer model because it does not have physical buttons. (The only buttons that can be used are those that the touch screen panel illuminates at any given point, thus making the equivalent combinations impossible.)
There are no default login credentials in any of the user instructions provided with the printer (come on HP!).
Please, does anyone know what the required username and password are?
Many thanks
button will onl that I can hold down

Thank you for engaging in HP Support Forums. I am glad to be of your assistance!
I understand your printer is asking for an administrator password. Is the printer connected to the network already? If so, let’s try to fix the issue by following the steps mentioned below:
Let's first try to perform a Reset Network Settings on the printer:
To reset the administrator password and network settings
1. From the Home screen, touch the Wireless icon, and then touch Setup.
2. Touch and drag your finger vertically to scroll through the options, Touch Restore Network Settings.
A message appears stating that the network defaults will be restored.
4. Touch Yes.
5. Print the network configuration page and verify that the network settings have been reset.
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to try these steps here:
- Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.
- Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
- Now go to the Security Tab - Administrative Settings.
- Uncheck the "Control Panel Lock".
If the issue persists, then we will have to completely reset the printer.

Hi Jeet,
Thanks for the steps to reset the network settings - this reset the EWS login credentials.
There was the whole business of re-adding the printer to my network but it was a small price to pay.
There won't be a need to reset the printer.
Much appreciated
