HP ENVY 4520 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When my HP Envy 4520 is connected wirelessly there is no option to set printing to color.  When I connect the printer via USB cable, the setting options then provide the option to set a print job to print in color.  Drivers are up-to-date and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer wirelessly.  Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

I ended up figuring out the issue.  When I installed the following:  Full_Webpack-40.15.1230-EN4520_Full_Webpack, it actually removed the ability to set printing to color in the preferences.  The following:  Basic_Webpack_x64-40.15.1230-EN4520_Basicx64_Webpack allows for the color, black & white & grey scale printing options.

I faced the same issue a while ago with another HP printer, i.e. normal behaviour in USB mode and missing color option in Wireless mode. The explanation of the issue (missing registry keys) is described in the following link :

OfficeJet 3830 Color option missing from printer preferences - HP Support Community - 8264615

The proposed workaround probably also work in your case, but your workaround (Basic versus Full webpack) is certainly an easier fix for lambda users, thanks for the tip.

Thanks Bill!  I expected that there probably was a registry key setting and I did poke around with regedit.  I was just hoping someone had the same issue or already knew of a tech note that would identify the edit.   I may poke around HP some more to see if I can find one, as I did like some of the features that come with the full pack.

So I reinstalled the full pack and added the registry key suggested in the tech note you provided Bill.  It has added the color printing options!   Thanks again for the tip!

Thanks for your feedback @MSteg. In your case, other registry keys are probably missing :

"For example, on other HP printer models, the keys Duplex and DuplexUnit with value 1 should also be added to the network mode install." Screenshots hereunder, in french, but self explaining :

There are maybe other ones missing. If you want to dig further, "compare the registry keys in PrinterDriverData  installed in USB mode versus the ones installed under network mode and spot the missing ones with value equal to one."

That is the webpak I have installed and there is no color setting option in the advanced settings.
