I have uninstalled the drivers for my Hp eNVY 5549 at the root level and deleting every HP program on my computer.   I have gone through all the steps already listed on this forum and still the printer will not print in color.  There is no choice between color and gray scale on the print quality tab.   I have run print doctor and it says all is OK.   The diagnotic page prints in color.

 

 I have had this problem of not printing color in the past and it was resolved by deleting and installing the drivers however that is not working this time.     The internet is full of people having this problem with HP printers for years.    I would discard this printer if it weren't for the $300 of ink I have.   Very very frustrating that this keeps occuring.

 

Is there a fix for this failure to print color?   I fix it and then it happens again.  Prior fixes don't work.  Why are these drivers so unstable?   Is HP aware of this issue?   Does HP support this printer anymore?

It is now two weeks later and I have not received any reply from HP Support.  

I have spent numerous hours on the forum and uninstalled and reinstalled the print drivers to no avail.   IT WILL NOT PRINT COLOR.   Funny thing - The Print Quality Diagnostic Page prints color perfectly so the ink cartridges are fine.  

 

There is no choice in Print Preferences for Color or Gray Scale.  This is an ongoing problem for several years with this printer and there is no solution in the forums and HP Support won't contact me.  What am I to do with the $300 dollars of ink I have in my desk?   Will you buy the printer and ink back from me???    That would be the good customer support.
