My HP Envy 5660 has been saying that it is updating for the past couple of days. It says, "This process might take several minutes," but it has been much longer than several minutes with no options to stop update or anything that might make the printer available to use. I'm running my printer on a MacBook Pro, and have been using both together for a few years with no previous issues. Thank you for any help or suggestions.

@Crystal_Ann, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Let us perform a hard reset on the printer. Here is how you do it-
- Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Refer to the document Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware for different methods of updating the printer. Once the update is complete, try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
