HP Recommended

Hello,

Recently, my HP Envy 6055e software would not run correctly. It kept giving me a runtime error, and I could not use software features. I believe I installed the software from a CD but I have no idea where it is! So I decided to go to HP and download the most current printer management software.

Now I'm in quite a pickle and don't know what to do, as I've lost the legacy software, and HP's listed applications for my 6055e are not currently working. I have the drivers working, but when I try to install applications (say for scan tools), the HP setup continuously asks me to use an Ethernet cord to connect my printer. I do not have a port on the 6055e.

Further, when given options of connecting wired, wireless, etc. I actually try to use the cable and it will read the printer, but if I try to connect wirelessly, it will not allow the printer to be read through HP's program if I disconnect the USB. This is very confusing as Windows 8.1 is currently connected to the printer wirelessly....

I'm not even technically supposed to use the USB connection (the cable I don't think came with the printer), as there is a sticker on the back which says not to use a USB, only a wireless connection.

Can anyone help? I'm out of ideas on making this printer work wirelessly with HP software. I've even tried legacy software to no avail....
