I have an HP Envy 6054e wireless all in one printer that I’m trying to print to from my iPhone XR, is it possible without wifi? I’m on a road trip and all I have is my iPhone.
thanks in advance!

Hi @SomewhereTexas,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Yes, you can print from your iPhone XR to your HP Envy 6055e without a Wi-Fi connection by using Wi-Fi Direct. Here’s how to set it up:
Step 1: Enable Wi-Fi Direct on the Printer
- Turn on the Printer: Make sure your HP Envy 6055e is powered on.
- Access the Control Panel: Look for the Wi-Fi Direct option on the printer's control panel. This might be under the network settings.
- Enable Wi-Fi Direct: If it’s not already enabled, turn on Wi-Fi Direct. The printer will generate a Wi-Fi Direct name (like "HP-Print-XX-Envoy").
Step 2: Connect Your iPhone to the Printer
- Open Settings on Your iPhone: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Find the Printer’s Wi-Fi Direct Network: Look for the network name of your printer (e.g., "HP-Print-XX-Envoy") and tap on it to connect.
- Enter Password: If prompted, enter the password for the Wi-Fi Direct connection (often found on a label on the printer or in the printer’s settings).
Step 3: Print from Your iPhone
- Open the Document or Image: Navigate to the document or image you want to print.
- Tap Share: Look for the share icon (a square with an arrow) and tap it.
- Select Print: Choose the Print option.
- Select Your Printer: Your HP Envy 6055e should appear in the list of available printers. Select it.
- Adjust Print Settings: Set your desired print options and then tap Print
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
