HP Envy 6400 reset admin password

I am trying to view / change some of the settings on my printer, and I need the printer's admin password to do so. I forgot the password, so I tried a manual hardware reset by pressing the reset button on the back of the unit. I setup the printer with default values via the HP app. I thought that the unit PIN would be the admin password, but that doesn't work.

what am I doing wrong?
