Hi @Max_gs,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Resetting the admin password on an HP Envy 6430 printer typically involves performing a partial reset or restoring the printer to its factory default settings. Here's how you can do it:

Partial Reset:

  • Turn on your printer.
  • Locate the power button on the printer and press and hold it for about 3-5 seconds until the printer turns off.
  • After the printer is powered off, wait for about 10 seconds, then press the power button again to turn on the printer.
  • This partial reset should clear some settings, including the admin password. However, it won't affect your wireless settings or your stored documents.

Factory Reset:

  • If the partial reset doesn't work or you want to completely reset the printer, you can perform a factory reset.
  • Press the "Wireless" and "Cancel" buttons simultaneously and hold them down for about 5 seconds until the Power light starts flashing.
  • Release the buttons, and the printer will start the reset process. It may take a few minutes for the reset to complete, and the printer will restart afterward.
  • After the factory reset, you'll need to set up the printer again, including reconfiguring the wireless connection and any other settings.

EWS (Embedded Web Server) Reset:

  • If your printer has an embedded web server (EWS), you may be able to reset the password through the printer's web interface.
  • Open a web browser on a computer connected to the same network as your printer.
  • Enter the printer's IP address in the address bar and press Enter. This should open the printer's EWS page.
  • Navigate to the "Security" or "Settings" section and look for an option to reset the admin password.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to reset the password.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
