This printer had been working with all my devices, my desktop in office, and laptop and mobile via wireless print feature. Suddenly stopped working with desktop PC after a year. Tried to reinstall print drivers and install was "unsuccessful". Tried a diagnostic and fix from within HP Smart app, functions "couldn't connect to complete". Tried finding a contact number for HP tech support, serial number showed warranty expired (printer installed in Dec. 21) and pointed me to this community for possible support. I am limited but not completely tech illiterate. I do need this printer to get connected back to the desktop PC as that has documents on harddrive that cannot be sent to another device via email for wireless printing due to confidentiality conditions of nature of work; scan feature from desktop no longer working; HP Smart assistant window shows printer status as connected to my internet. I can shut down, turn back and attempt to reinstall driver from HP site, but wanted to ask the community experts if this issue sounds familiar to anyone and for possible solutions to fix and get printer back online. Print status in HP smart shows "offline" although in settings it shows connected. I could use some tech support from anyone willing to help me. I have created a one off email address to contact me at for this issue. It is [content removed] I welcome any insight into how to resolve this printer not working to the computer that needs to print the most, while HP continues to charge me monthly for ink cartridges that I cannot use! I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Envy Inspire 7955e stopped working with the desktop. Print status in HP smart shows "offline" Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove the USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Update the printer firmware
