Hi Everyone,

I have a printer HP Envy Photo 6220 and for some reason I cannot print.

The computer is connected via WiFi.

It is finely connected to the network and and it is connected to the same network with my laptop.

If I check on the "Printers & Scanners" it is show with Error status

in the HP Smart app it is shows as ready.

and when I send a job and I check the queue status... I see the job but it does not print and then it shows Error in the status

Any ideas?

Hi @Kosta74

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our notice.

I see that you are facing issues with your printer. Do not worry, we are here to fix it.

May I know from when are you facing this issue?

Did you make any hardware or software-related changes to it?

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to check connectivity

Download a special version of HP Print and Scan Doctor specifically created to help with printer offline conditions.

1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

2. Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.

3. Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.

  • If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
  • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.

4. If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.

5. If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.

Set a manual IP-

To set a manual IP and try the steps below -

--->Print a network configuration page and take down the printer's IP address

--->Open a web browser (ex Chrome or Mozilla) and type in the printer's IP

--->then go to network ---> general ---> network protocols ---> select IPV4 only-->apply

--->go to wireless ---> wireless 802.11---> select manual ip ---> apply

--->Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.

--->then go to settings on the main ews page --> power management ---> select sleep mode to max 15min

Connect the printer to TCP/IP port

--->Touch on the wifi icon ((i)) on the printer and take down the IP address

a. Click Start/Devices and Printers.  Right-click on your HP Printer.  Select Printer Properties.  Select the Ports tab at the top. b. Select Add Port.  Select Standard TCP/IP Port.  Select New Port.

c. Follow the Add Port Wizard.  Under Printer Name or IP Address,

Example:  192.168.1.15.  The IP address will be copied under Port Name.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

OK.

I downloaded the scan doctor.

run the exe.

but I am stuck to the point "If your printer in not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry. "

I did it but it cannot find my printer and I am stuck in a loop as it show the same message again and ask me to retry.

note that the printer is connected to the WIFI and it is the same wifi network with my laptop.

I am attaching two photos from my laptop.

photo 1: the status as it shows in my 'Printers and Scanners"

photo 2; the status of the printer in HP Smart, where it says the the printer is not connected.

Note also that I had also removed and reinstalled the printer in my computer as an attempt to fix this,

Any suggestions how to proceed?

thanks

Hi there

I did restored the network

put the same wifi network with my laptop

restarted the printer and the printer is still offline. 😞

and the same issue we see in my daughters laptop as she also sees the printer as off-line

so I guess it is not the computer.

any other ideas?

thanks

Thanks for your response.

May I know if the blue light is solid on your printer?

Also, could you please private message me the IP address of your printer?

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here

Thanks!
