The printer works fine except for a horizontal blank line about 1.5" from the top margin and about 3" from the bottom margin. Even though it's obviously not a cartridge problem, I went through those steps. The software is up to the latest. The interior has been vacuumed and physically dusted. With the age of the 7855, is it worth repairing?

Hi @looking4help4 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer consistently produces misprints with horizontal blank lines in specific locations on every page, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take:

  • Check Print Cartridges: Ensure that the print cartridges are properly installed and not empty. Sometimes, misprints can occur due to low ink levels or improperly seated cartridges.
  • Clean Print Heads: Use the printer's utility software to clean the print heads. This can often resolve issues caused by clogged print heads, which may result in blank lines or streaks on the printed pages.
  • Print Quality Settings: Adjust the print quality settings in the printer driver settings on your computer. Sometimes, lower quality settings can result in misprints or blank lines.
  • Paper Quality: Make sure you are using the correct type and size of paper for your printer. Improper paper settings can lead to misprints or paper jams.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause printing issues. Software and Drivers for HP ENVY Photo 7855 All-in-One Printer
  • Replace Cartridges: If cleaning the print heads doesn't resolve the issue and you're sure there's enough ink, consider replacing the cartridges altogether. They may be faulty or nearing the end of their lifespan.
  • Firmware Update: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, firmware updates can address known issues and improve overall printer performance. Update the firmware on an HP printer

Hello Gaya1239.

Thank you for your reply. But, I am confused by your response. If you read my initial message, everything that you suggested I stated was already accomplished. Is there anything beyond what I've done? (Which you listed in your response) That I can do to try to resolve this problem? Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.
