My neighbor gave me their HP Envy photo 6255 after they bought a new one.  The printer was functioned fine except leaving roller streak at the back of the paper.  I want to use the printer as a scanner as I have two laser printers already.  My neighbor did not give me any ink cartridge because they need them.

Question:  can I install/set up this printer just as a scanner without any ink cartridge?

Hi @slivkan 

Simply connect a USB cable between your Envy printer and your computer and then use Windows > Devices > Open Scanner option.

Yes, it works even though the youtube instruction is for a different HP series.  Direct connection works.  Too bad the printer is too smart for wireless/blue tooth.  Thank you.
