Don't know if this is related to the laptop or printer... My printer has been working fine--even the scanning--until yesterday. It's an HP Officejet 4500 Wireless model G510n. All of a sudden, the HP Installer started up on my laptop and it failed. I sent the logs to HP. But the installer keeps running over and over and over! I have to keep pressing CANCEL. I found one solution but it didn't exactly fit my OS and didn't work, anyway. Now what? This is soooo annoying!.

@skswim, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

To assist you better, which installer are you referring to?

Kindly send the screenshots in your next post.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix printing'.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Remove all the HP apps on the computer.

Install the printer using Windows built-in driver as there is no driver available for this printer on the HP Support site due to its age.

Refer to this document to know how. Try printing. Use Deskjet 990c driver if your printer is not listed.

Refer to this document HP printer setup (Windows built-in driver) for help.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
