When I go to the web interface of the HP Embedded Web Server on the local network. Login in with admin. And change the password (Security > System Security > System Administrator). Log-out. Then I am no longer able to login with the previous and newly set password. How to reset the password? And can the firmware be fixt so the set new password and login function work?
It did store the Administrator name and e-mail.

Hi @Erik46498,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're experiencing issues with changing the password via the web interface of the HP Embedded Web Server and subsequently being unable to log in with the new password, you may need to perform a reset on the printer to regain access. Here's what you can try.
Factory Reset: Most HP printers have a method for performing a factory reset, which should revert all settings, including the password, to their default values. This can usually be done by accessing the printer's menu or by pressing a specific combination of buttons on the printer itself. Refer to your printer's manual or HP's support documentation for instructions specific to your model.
As for fixing the firmware to address the password change issue, if it's a known bug or issue with the firmware, HP may release updates or patches to address it. You can check HP's support website for firmware updates for your printer model and install any available updates to see if it resolve the problem.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
