Hi @fxmer ,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the touchpad on your HP Chromebook Draitini is not working, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:
Restart your Chromebook: Sometimes, a simple restart can help resolve hardware or software glitches. Restart your Chromebook and see if the touchpad starts working again.
Check Touchpad Settings:
- Open the Settings menu on your Chromebook.
- Go to "Device" or "Touchpad and mouse" settings.
- Ensure that the touchpad is enabled and check for any specific touchpad settings that may affect its functionality.
Update Chrome OS:
- Make sure your Chromebook is running the latest version of Chrome OS. Updates can include bug fixes and improvements that may address touchpad issues.
Powerwash (Factory Reset):
- If the issue persists, you might want to consider performing a Powerwash, which is a factory reset for Chromebooks. This will erase local data, so be sure to back up your important files.
- To perform a Powerwash, go to Settings > Advanced > Reset settings.
Check for Physical Damage:
- Examine the touchpad for any physical damage. If you see any visible damage.
External Mouse:
- Connect an external USB or Bluetooth mouse to your Chromebook. If the external mouse works fine, the issue may be specific to the touchpad.
Developer Mode:
- If you're comfortable with developer mode, you can try switching to it and see if the touchpad works. Keep in mind that this is an advanced step, and it may void your warranty or result in data loss.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
