Hi @Lepetys,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand your HP LaserJet 1300 n's serial number is not recognized, it can be frustrating, especially if you're trying to register or get support for the printer. Here's a step-by-step guide to resolve this issue:

1. Verify the Serial Number

  • Locate the Serial Number: Ensure you’re looking at the correct serial number. It’s usually found on a label on the back or bottom of the printer.
  • Check for Accuracy: Make sure there are no typos when entering the serial number.

2. Update Printer Drivers

Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause issues with recognition. Ensure you have the latest drivers installed:

  • Go to HP’s Support Website: Visit the HP Support page.
  • Search for Your Printer Model: Enter “HP LaserJet 1300 n.”
  • Download and Install the Latest Drivers: Follow the instructions provided.

3. Replacing Contact Information in Product Information

If you need to update the company name and contact person in the printer's settings or registration information:

  • Access Printer Settings: Depending on your printer, you may be able to do this through the printer’s onboard menu or through the HP Printer Assistant software on your PC.
  • Update Information: Look for an option to update or edit product information and enter the new details.

4. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer

Ensure that the printer’s firmware is up to date, as outdated firmware can sometimes cause recognition issues:

  • Visit HP’s Support Website: Check for firmware updates for your model.
  • Follow Update Instructions: Download and install any available updates.

  • Refer to this document for steps to find the product details.

Could you please elaborate in detail?

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
