I've purchased the HP LaserJet 3200 AIO during the year 2001. Upon using this printer, I used the included CD-ROM to install every software that shipped. Now, all these years have passed. I have added this printer onto my HP EliteDesk 800 G1 under Windows 10 x64 and I can print and scan. However, I also want all the utilities that shipped with this installation CD. However, attempting to install this software package from this CD, Windows immediate terminates with a critical error. I believe the error is because I am running a version of Windows that is not supported by the old installation. Where is there a means to obtain a complete revision of the complete package so that I have a full working solution? I need the ability to scan, then OCR the scan that same way I was able under Windows 98/ME/2000/XP years and years and years ago. I need the HP Director as it was for Windows 98/NT/ME/2000/XP/7/8 that worked perfectly. No ability exists to reinstall from this CD. Any suggestions or ideas? and... no.... buying some new device is NOT the answer.

I found, and will install what is named 'HP Smart' from https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9wzdncrfhwlh to see if I can once again enjoy what I've paid for, which was a complete scan/fax/copy/print solution in the LaserJet 3200 AIO device.

Lovely day, isn't it? Now that I'd gotten Windows 10 x64 seeing this printer by itself, I was not able to fully utilize scan/fax/copy and OCR functions. So one step I'd taken was to download and install HP Smart. It's over 157 megabytes of software. After getting all of this done, the running of the HP Smart results in "No Printers Found" -- yet in another dialog, the printers dialog, I can print a test page just fine. I can also use Windows Scan and Fax now suddenly after finding a Windows x64 update for Scanner. Isn't this just duckie? Well, now HP Smart tells me I need to obtain HP Start 123.

I can tell everyone with an extremely high degree of certainty, that my problem today is NOT due to a misunderstanding on my part. How can I say this? I've been a 42 year I.T. pro and have successfully installed over 500 printers, 6000 computers, 250 servers and thousands of various versions of software and drivers. What I am certain to now be finding, regarding ALL THE MISSING SOFTWARE which used to be provided by Hewlett Packard, that it is quite apparent that NOBODY has actually sat down with the original 'hp LaserJet 3200' driver CD-ROM 'C7052-60114 ver.3.0' that references 'www.hp.com/support/lj3200' in order to update this package. That's tragic. But also expected. What is also expected is for some common sense to come back to the fore here. My own common sense tells me TO FORGET IT.
