Dear HP Support Team,

We are experiencing a critical issue with our HP LaserJet 4003dw printers. Our organization has purchased 20 units of this model, and all of them are exhibiting the same problem after being configured for Wi-Fi connectivity.

Issue Description

  • Model: HP LaserJet 4003dw
  • Number of Units Affected: 20
  • Issue: The printers enter sleep mode after a period of inactivity and fail to wake automatically when a print job is sent.
  • Impact: This requires manual intervention, The printer does not respond and remains in sleep mode until manually restarted.

Additional Context

We also use other HP Wi-Fi printer models within our organization, and they do not experience this issue under similar network conditions. This suggests the problem is specific to the HP LaserJet 4003dw model or its firmware.

Environment Details

  • Firmware Version: []
  • Network Details: Wi-Fi network

This issue is affecting productivity and causing inconvenience to our staff. We suspect this could be a firmware or configuration-related bug.

Request for Assistance

This issue is impacting multiple devices and users in our organization. We kindly request:

  • Confirmation if this is a known issue.
  • Immediate guidance or workaround recommendations.
  • Updates on firmware or software patches to address this bug.

We are available to provide additional information, logs, or perform diagnostics if required. Given the scope of the issue, we would appreciate expedited support.

Thank you for your attention and assistance.

When the printer goes to sleep can you access the printers EWS and when you print from EWS does it wake up and print?

Try install universal print driver for one printer and test it if it works from EWS
