I cannot complete setting up a new HP Laserjet M209dw printer. I am a senior living as an independent resident in my apartment. The WiFi connection is shared by other independent residents. I tried everything suggested by the Virtual Assistant including resetting the printer to the factory setting, getting the correct setting for the WiFi connection, connecting the router to the WiFi wall outlet with an ethernet cable, etc. Is there anything I can do to complete the setup?

Hi @Keystone1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I see that you are facing an issue with connecting your Printer to the network.
Please follow the steps below to connect your printer to the network again.
1) Uninstall the HP smart app by click on this link, Restart the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions.
2) Enable Wi-Fi setup mode: When you turn on your printer for the first time, it is temporarily placed in Wi-Fi setup mode so that it can be discovered during setup. Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information.
3) Refer to this link to use the HP smart app on your phone/tablet/PC to add a printer.
Note: Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.
Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution. Click the “Kudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to say “Thanks” for helping!
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!

Hi! Iewin6,
Thank you very much for your detailed and clear response to the issue that was facing. However, a seller IT Technical service representative and HP Technical service person went over what I did and the consistent result I got. They have concluded that the Internet service provided by the Senior community where I live is considered is considered a "Public Network". The HP Smart has blocked the connecting HP wireless printer to complete the setup setup process. The seller agrees to a full refund as well as provides full return costs. This is a special case only those with limited access to "Public Network will face. My take-home lesson is that those who do not have private Internet service should not purchase an HP wireless printer. I hope this information could prompt HP to improve its "HP Smart" to address the related problems as well those who do not have private Internet should consider appropriate connectivity issues when deciding the purchase a new printer.
