HP LaserJet MFP M234dw NPI37AF71
Microsoft Windows Server 2019

Dear Support,

my workstation with Windows 10 is connecting to Windows server 2019 via Remote Desktop Connection.

I would like to print documents from remote server on my recently installed local printer HP LaserJet MFP M234dw (connected to my workstation with LAN.)

Printer has IP address and works fine on my PC. Print and scan as well.

On remote desktop connection I allowed Printers as Local resources and Printer pooling with LPT port I have also setup. This solution I use for other printer we use in office and it works well.

Somehow I'm not able to set print via Remote Desktop Connection on local printer MFP M234dw.

When I try to install the same driver from my Win10 machine on WinServer2019 I get an Error that OS Not Supported (HP Easy Start does not support WinServer2019)

Can you please help me to set this up as I would like to print documents form Remote server on my local printer MFP M234dw.

Best Regards

Pavol

I would suggest you create another printer instance and use the HP UPD driver.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately it is still not working for me.

It seems like connection is established. I opened notepad, typed "TEST", tried to print via redirected printer with HP universal Printing PCL 6 (v7.0.1)

Printer wake up, display light up, printer makes "click sound" but nothing comes out.. Nothing is waiting in queue.

Do you have any suggestion what to check please?

The issue is likely due to the fact that the M234 does NOT support PCL 6, sorry for leading you down a dead end rabbit hole. This printer only supports PCLmS commands. That might be the reason that remote desktop is not getting the commands. The sales documents do not list Server 2019 as supported but that might simply be because of the time of release of documentation. A printer that supports PCL6 would likely be a better choice in this situation.

Thanks again for your suggestion.

Does it mean that print over Remote Desktop from Windows server 2019 on the printer M234dw will definitely not work? Isn't there any workaround or a third party sw that can be used? I wouldn't expect that this new printer will not be able to print over Remote desktop.
