HP LaserJet P1006 Printer

This HP LaserJet printer no longer works since connecting it to new Mac running OS 12.1 .

I downloaded a new driver from HP site and it comes with a warning that it is for OS 12 AND EARLIER.    I cannot install it.

Coincidentally, another Mac in the house, upgraded to OS 12.1 has the same model HP Laserjet P1006 and it IS running.

My HP Laserjet P1006 was physically disconnected from an old Mac (OS 10.15.7) and reconnected to new Mac (OS 12.1)

You may need to download and run the HP UNINSTALLER to get rid of all old HP drivers.

I did.

Then install and run HP SMART to load the correct printer drivers.

When I downloaded the drivers to a new iMac running 12.1, that driver installer would not run.

When I clicked on HP SMART and followed instructions, the app could not locate my HP LaserJet P1006 even though it was connected by USB and turned on.  There was a message about setting it up for WiFi connection. I did not know how to do that and I intentionally use USB connection.

So far the issue remains unresolved.

I'll continue to look for a solution:  download driver for HP LaserJet P1006 on Mac OS 12.1
