HP LaserJet P2035n
Microsoft Windows 11

My new Dell OptiPlex 7780 was working great with my HP printer.  But now it doesn't recognize it.  Print test button on my HP LaserJet P2305n printer works, but when I attempt to Test Print via the HP Print and Scan Doctor 5.6.6 app, it doesn't work.  I realize this is an older printer, but yesterday it was working fine.  I reloaded the latest driver, albeit a 2015 driver, from HP.com but still nothing.  My computer does recognize my other HP printer that is wireless.  Please assist.

And how are you connecting your 2035, it supports parallel, usb and wired network and my suggested solutions would be different for everyone. Providing complete information about your issue is crucial to getting the right answer.

Thanks Repairatrooper for your response.  My 2035 is right next to my computer and it's connected using a USB port in the back of the computer to a smaller connector on the other side of the wire that goes into the printer.  Hope this helps.

My suggestion based on the problematic support for USB with newer Windows and older devices, I would suggest that you connect the printer to the network and then use the UPD PCL 5 drive which fully supports the 2035 printer.

Thanks for that suggestion Repairatrooper.  I will have someone a little more tech savvy help me with that.  Why do you think everything was working fine ever since I purchased my new Dell in Feb. 22?  Do you think it could be the new Bios that Dell suggested I upload yesterday?  Thanks again.
