Hi!
I just unpacked my new printer yesterday and followed along with the instructions. Everything worked perfectly but then I accidentally deleted the printer from "Printer & Scanners" and now I am not able to add it back, because I do not have the driver. So far I have tried to remove the HP Easy Start Pro for Mac and the HP Smart app, but when I reinstalled them, there seem to have been some remains that tell the software the driver is already installed and it doesn't install them again. Is there any way to completely remove all the files the HP software created, so I can do a "fresh" install and maybe get the driver back in "Printers and Scanners" ? I would also be open for any other way

Hi @MadMarcel85,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand how frustrating it can be to deal with printer setup issues, especially after everything seemed to work perfectly at first. Let’s work together to get your printer reconnected.
- Did you delete the printer from “Printers & Scanners” while it was still connected to your network or via USB, or was it disconnected at the time?
- Have you tried resetting the printing system in macOS to clear any stuck configurations?
- Is your printer connected via Wi-Fi, USB, or Ethernet, and is it still showing as connected on the printer display or control panel?
Let's try these steps.
Reset the Printing System on macOS:
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control + click) in the printer list and select "Reset Printing System."
- This will remove all printer configurations, allowing you to start fresh.
Uninstall HP Software Completely:
- Open the HP Easy Start or HP Uninstaller app and remove all related printer software.
- Manually search for HP-related files: Go to Finder > Go > Go to Folder and check the following directories:
- /Library/Printers
- /Library/Application Support
- ~/Library/Application Support
- Delete any HP-related files or folders.
Reboot and Reinstall the HP Software:
- Restart your Mac to ensure all changes take effect.
- Download the latest driver and software package from the HP Support website.
- Install the software and follow the setup instructions to add the printer again.
Add the Printer Manually:
- If the HP software doesn’t detect your printer, go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and click "+" to add a printer.
- Choose your printer from the list or manually enter its IP address if it’s network-connected.
Reset Network Settings on the Printer (if Wi-Fi):
- On the printer, navigate to Setup > Network Settings > Restore Network Settings or a similar option (check your printer’s manual). Click here and go to page 10
- Reconnect your printer to your Wi-Fi network using the setup wizard, and ensure it’s connected before attempting to add it back to your Mac.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi!
I just installed the printer on a fresh installation of macOS 12.7.6 by going to the homepage https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/hp-laserjet-pro-3001-3008dn-dw-printer-series/model/35800977 and downloading the HP Easy Start Pro for Mac app and followed along with the instructions. Afterwards it asked me to download the HP Smart app from the Mac App Store which I also did and I followed along with the instructions as well. I just went to Printers & Scanners and pressed the plus botton and in fact this time the printer appeared in the the list.
