HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We are a school system and have several of this model AIO HP LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdw.

We originally connected to a W10 64bit pc via USB diect connect, and all was good for 3 days then no printing!

Some received an error "out of ink", or "out of paper" and again it stopped printing!

We shut down the pc and printing started? then connected LAN directly same issue.

We can see the printer on our wifi network dhcp but trying to use that ip directly from pc fails?

HELP or give us an fix

Hello. To have that happening to several MFP M428fdw is kind of weird.

First, do not use more than one connection method at the same time. So it is going to be either USB OR wired network OR Wi-Fi.  When using wired networking turn off Wi-Fi.

Second, never use a DHCP assigned IP address as a static IP address. It can cause BIG comm conflicts.

If you want to operate the printer with a static IP address you need to choose one outside the range of the DHCP server addresses pool.

After you fix the above scenarios try using the printers again.
