The Printer itself is working. I can navigate the menu and print the event log, for example.
When connected via usb to a computer, it will not show up as a printer. The Problem presists for different usb cables and operating systems. HP software will not show any software.
For example hp-setup on linux says:
Searching... (bus=usb, search=(None), desc=0)
error: No devices found on bus: usb
However, on lssub a devices shows up when I connect the printer:
Bus 001 Device 014: ID 0424:2502 Microchip Technology, Inc. (formerly SMSC)
Do I need to activate usb on the printer? The manual does not say anything besides plugging it in.
