HP LaserJet Pro 402dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought an HP LaserJet Pro M402dn.

I connected it to my Windows 10 desktop and ran the installer progrom - 2 way.... first from the CD, then from the HP site, I downloaded the .exe driver installation.

I got this error message: "An install operation took too long to execute.  This is a fatal error preventing product use."

Please help

Hello,

Hope you are well, if its an USB connection , it is recommended to remove the USB cable from the computer, then uninstall the software of the printer, you can go to control panel > programs and look for the 402 software and right click over it and then select change/uninstall, it will open the uninstaller and then run it. Computer may restart after that. Once the software is uninstalled, please reconnect the USB cable into the computer and go to control panel > devices and printers and check if the computer detects the printer or if a printer icon gets generated automatically, normally it does.

If you see the printer icon , please test it by printing something.

if no automatic icon, just download the installer software from this link

download the HP LJ Pro M402-M403 n, m, dn, dne Printer Series PCL 6 V3 Full Solution and run it.  It is a good trick to keep the USB cable not connect it and wait for the program connection type section to provide the instruction to connect the USB.

Regards,
