This is how far I got:
- Printer uses my WLAN, visible in router, accessible via browser
- I can print using USB
- I can print documents from my IPhone using HP Smart
- I can print test pages from my Windows notebook using HP Smart
- I CANNOT print document from Windows
- Edition Windows 10 Pro, Version 21H2, OS build 19044.1466, Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0
- I tried everything I found: reinstalling software, using basic driver software and full software from https://support.hp.com/de-de/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-m118-m119-series/21996892
- tried creating wireless printer by converting from USB as described in https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-deskjet-3630-all-in-one-printer-series/7172306/document/c034...
Every path I choose fails at somehow detecting printer or installing software via network/ WLAN, here are some insights..
When choosing "pint documents" in HP Smart:
Don't know how this comes, but no, there was no success:
This was the result in other tries:
Using the toolbox converting from USB to wireless:
The result is always the same:
What the hell is going? This took me hours already...

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Thanks for your support, but that did not help, I ran into the same issues again. The printer cannot be installed correctly.
There was no printer driver listed at all in the Print Server Properties view.
This step runs for about 5 minutes...
But finally fails...

I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:
• Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.
• When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.
• Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.
Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help.

I tried that way many times before, the exact printer was never listed and any generic HP/ Hewlett Packard driver did not work.
Meanwhile I have upgraded to windows 11. The printer is now shown in the device list without that message "driver not available" as before under Windows 10. Still I am not able to print in Windows 11 neither.
I can print a test page from HP Smart, which starts immediately. If I try to print a test page from windows printer settings just a second later, it runs into error without any meaningful message and without any error led on the printer:

Surprisingly after deleting the document from the queue, the windows test page was printed later.
Turning the printer off and on, printing works for now.
Question: HP Smart recognizes if the printer is online or offline. Windows printer list does not, it is always "idle". Is that expected behaviour?
And from the printer details it seems like there is a generic driver used which might be the cause for sporadic errors when trying to print...

Create a TCP IP port:
1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)
2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right-click the printer and left-click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.
This video resource will show you how to do it:
