Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have installed the driver on our server.  It prints fine from the server.

I have 3 computers in a room.  They are all running Windows 10 Pro.

Each one installed the printer by selecting it from the list of shared printers on the print/file server.

One computer is working fine with the printer; that computer can print with no issues.

The other two don't work.  Whenever we try to install the printer, it says "cannot install the printer at the moment".

Then it stops installing.

It also causes the print server to crash on the workstation.

I have gone through and deleted the print driver from print management on the workstation, and I also deleted several other unused drivers.  I then rebooted, and it still did not work.

I deleted and readded the printer on the server as well, just to see if that that was a problem, but it did not help.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

Any difference between the working and the other clients? is it the same Windows 10 version/build?

Ensure the latest Windows 10 updates are installed for the non-working computers and then check again.

Could you also clarify the exact build or version for the one who works and the other ones? is it the same build? (Type WINVER into the Run dialog)

Please let me know,

Shlomi

I have a similar issue, but mostly a small 2 workstation office. The printer in on a wired network. It can scan to a folder on each PC with no issue, fax and copy with no issue. When its time to print it will typically crash the print program and dialogue and sometimes the program I am attempting to print from.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled with various driver packages, no go. I have installed via USB, Wired Network, WiFi Direct and standard WiFi. All have the same issue. I got multiple reports yesterday about printer acting this way, all HP printers. Both newor, and local machines, personal and business models.

I try to convert all HP to Brother or another good brand as they have proven that they are not quality machines,  just over priced junk honestly. To fix an issue with any HP product, just replace it as support is very hesitant to do much.

Good luck!! I will share any results I get with you, may help.

They are all on version 1903.

They are all on 1903, but the working one is on 18362.356,

The other non-working ones are on 18362.387

The print driver INITIALLY worked on all three systems, then stopped working on two of them.

I installed it on a different Windows version .387, and it installed correctly.

So I don't get it.
