Hi @Brian123452
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 8020e is displaying a "Printer Cannot Print" error and you've checked your HP account with no issues found, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Step 1: Restart Devices
- Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Restart Computer: Restart your computer as well to refresh the connection.
Step 2: Check Printer Status
- Printer Display: Check the printer’s display for any additional error messages or prompts.
- Check Ink and Paper: Ensure there is sufficient ink and paper in the printer.
Step 3: Update or Reinstall Drivers
- Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Locate Printer: Find your printer, right-click, and select Update Driver.
- Reinstall Driver: If updating doesn’t work, consider uninstalling the printer and then reinstalling it. Go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and choose Remove device. After removing it, add the printer back.
Step 4: Run HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download Tool: Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website.
- Run the Tool: Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix any printing issues.
Step 5: Check HP Account Settings
- Login to HP Account: Double-check that your HP account is active and in good standing.
- Service Status: Make sure any subscription services (like HP Instant Ink) are active if applicable.
Step 6: Reset Network Settings
- Reset Printer Network: On the printer’s control panel, go to the network settings and reset the network setup.
- Reconnect to Wi-Fi: Reconnect the printer to your wireless network.
Step 7: Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings
- Firewall/Antivirus: Sometimes, security software can block communication between your printer and computer. Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus and see if it resolves the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
