If your HP OfficeJet 8020e is displaying a "Printer Cannot Print" error and you've checked your HP account with no issues found, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Step 1: Restart Devices

  1. Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  2. Restart Computer: Restart your computer as well to refresh the connection.

Step 2: Check Printer Status

  1. Printer Display: Check the printer’s display for any additional error messages or prompts.
  2. Check Ink and Paper: Ensure there is sufficient ink and paper in the printer.

Step 3: Update or Reinstall Drivers

  1. Open Device Manager: Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Locate Printer: Find your printer, right-click, and select Update Driver.
  3. Reinstall Driver: If updating doesn’t work, consider uninstalling the printer and then reinstalling it. Go to Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and choose Remove device. After removing it, add the printer back.

Step 4: Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  1. Download Tool: Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website.
  2. Run the Tool: Follow the prompts to diagnose and fix any printing issues.

Step 5: Check HP Account Settings

  1. Login to HP Account: Double-check that your HP account is active and in good standing.
  2. Service Status: Make sure any subscription services (like HP Instant Ink) are active if applicable.

Step 6: Reset Network Settings

  1. Reset Printer Network: On the printer’s control panel, go to the network settings and reset the network setup.
  2. Reconnect to Wi-Fi: Reconnect the printer to your wireless network.

Step 7: Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings

  1. Firewall/Antivirus: Sometimes, security software can block communication between your printer and computer. Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus and see if it resolves the issue.

Hi Rachel,

 

My question was:

"Is the HP M477 memory encrypted and how big is the memory?"

 

As I recall it, the m477 is not equipped with a hard drive, only memory.
Is the memory encrypted and how big is it?
