HP LaserJet Enterprise M806dn Printer

I have four HP M806 laser printers used exclusively for high volume check printing in an SAP environment.  When a batch of 100 checks is released it starts out printing fast (One second per check) and gradually slows down.  The printer would intermittently stops printing.  These are new printers to replace our old Standard Register printers.  Is there anyone out there who had experienced this problem?  Your help is appreciated.

the most common cause we see with out clients on slow printing is when the printer is configured using a WSD port instead of a standard TCP/IP port for the driver and using a Microsoft IPP driver instead of the correct HP driver.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Where can I find and see the WSD option on the HP M806 printer?  I went to Networking => Advanced  and couldn't find it.

Please note that I print a batch of 100 checks from SAP to  the HP M806 printer.  No print server involved.

Thanks!

I believed WSD is on the Window's platform.  A batch of checks are generated on the SAP ERP and prints directly to the HP M806 printers, no Windows.  Not sure what is causing the gradual slow down.

What driver are you using? Also keep in mind that as these machines heat up on big jobs they will slow down to prevent overheating/underheating of the fuser unit.

The firmware on the printer is 2411226_066604

The driver comes from TROY.

I have no clients running the troy driver so no experience on that. Only other thing that pops to mind is the paper type settings on the printer, which can dramatically affect print speeds.

We're switching from the Standard Register printers to the HP M806 for high volume printing.   What I noticed is that after the 10th check the printer slows down, hardly a fuser or paper problem.  This problem is also noticed on plain paper.   Could this be a design problem on the M806?

Please note that we print thousands of checks per month and over 10,000 W2s at year-end.  This type of slowness is unacceptable.   I may have to escalate this to HP engineering.  Any advice?
