HP Recommended

Hi, we recently had a new HP MFP M776  installed where i work. I am the LAN admin here, but it was set up remotely from IT admin.

I am trying to set the printer up so that the USB port is always blocked, UNLESS we need to scan to USB, but when that is required, the user would need to input an access code.

I do not want to use the admin password to do this (I have the password) as it allows to much access.

I just want to give the access code (local device) to certain users.

Every article i find on the web about this is as follows, which is the same as the HP manual i have:

""To configure the local device sign in method, select Enable Access Code. Enter a four to eight digit PIN code in the Access Code box. Re-enter the four to eight digit PIN code in the Confirm Access Code box. Click the Apply button to save the settings.""

But the is no "select access code" to be found anywhere on this via the embedded web server, including in any of the security settings or access control page.
