Really fed up with this printer and only had it three days - when it works great but not being able top change the 'Eco setting' so I can have this on all the time is a pain in the butt . The options given are: Sleep mode -after 15 minutes max. Inactivity shutdown after 8 hours max - and I would prefer Never - turn on and turn off schedule would like the Never - but again not an option. Also when its in 'not working mode' the only why you can get the power switch to work - is unplug it and then plug in again - ridiculous - any ideas how I can change this to have it on and keep it on unless I wish to choose to turn it off ???

Hi @Viking55,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be to deal with power management settings that don't align with your needs. Here are some steps and potential solutions to address the issues you're facing with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8130e series printer:
Changing Power Management Settings:
1. Accessing Printer Settings:
Using Printer Control Panel:
- Go to the Home screen on the printer control panel.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Look for Preferences or Energy Settings.
- Adjust the Sleep Mode and Inactivity Shutdown settings to their maximum limits (15 minutes and 8 hours, respectively).
Using HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart App on your computer or mobile device.
- Select your printer and go to Advanced Settings or Printer Settings.
- Look for Power Management or Energy Settings.
- Adjust the settings as desired.
2. Setting a Schedule:
- If your printer does not allow setting the Inactivity Shutdown to "Never", you can try to use the Schedule On/Off feature:
- Go to Settings on the printer control panel.
- Find Schedule On/Off.
- Set the printer to turn on and off at specific times that fit your usage pattern.
Addressing the Power Button Issue:
1. Firmware Update:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve issues with hardware buttons and settings.
- Visit the HP Support website, download, and install the latest firmware for your printer.
2. Factory Reset:
- Performing a factory reset can sometimes resolve persistent issues. Be aware that this will reset all settings to their defaults.
- Go to Settings on the printer control panel.
- Navigate to Printer Maintenance or Restore Settings.
- Select Restore Factory Defaults.
3. Check Power Source:
- Ensure the printer is connected to a stable power source. Unstable power can sometimes cause issues with the power button and overall performance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
